Radar and Analyst modes
Start with one radar map, build a linked analysis view, and switch back without losing either arrangement.
HookEcho opens in Radar mode: one map and a timeline. Analyst is an optional workbench for comparing products and inspecting their data. Open Analysis from the Views menu to compare four products; choose Radar there to return to one map.

KTLX archive replay from May 20, 2013, recaptured October 4, 2026; it is not current weather.
Use the short menu
Select Menu to open the main sections:
| Section | What you will find |
|---|---|
| Views | Radar, Chase, National overview, and Analysis. |
| Layers | MRMS, SPC outlook, and the searchable layer library. |
| Your Map | Custom locations, point forecast, storm attributes, and sensor dashboard. |
Settings opens from the control beside search. Press Ctrl+S to open and focus search from anywhere. Escape dismisses open menus; it does not change modes.
Compare a storm in Analyst
- Select Analysis under Views. Your current Radar view becomes the first pane the first time you enter.
- The four panels open with different radar products. Use Options to adjust the arrangement.
- Select a pane before changing its radar product or overlays. The toolbar names the active pane.
- Use Options for linked maps and time. Open Inspector for product values and the actual source time.
- Select Radar to return to one map. Select Analysis again to resume the multi-pane arrangement.

KTLX archive replay from May 20, 2013, recaptured October 4, 2026. The panes show reflectivity, velocity, correlation coefficient, and differential reflectivity.
Your site, map position, product, overlays, threshold settings, and selected live or archive time remain with each mode while the app is open. A disabled threshold remains disabled. Save a Workspace in Tools if you want to keep an arrangement across restarts. Multi-pane and explicitly analyst workspaces open in Analyst; ordinary single-pane workspaces open in Radar.
On a smaller screen
On Android, Signal Deck keeps radar playback visible. The Quiet Shelf opens Radar, Layers, Alerts, and More controls. Use its close control to return to the map. A phone shows one Analyst pane at a time, with a pane picker for moving between them.
